‘Eye’ Saw That – 4th Grade

‘Eye’ Saw That – 4th Grade: – Birds have some of the keenest eyesight on planet Earth.  But, how does it work (4-PS4-2)? This program explores the superpower of avian vision.  We will compare and contrast bird vision with how humans view the world using raptors as our primary example (4-LS1-1, 4-LS1-2).  Live raptors, activities/games appropriate for a variety of learners, and FUN are a part of every TRC program.

NGSS: 4-PS4-2, 4-LS1-1, 4-LS1-2

Cross Cutting Concepts: (PS4-2) Cause and effect relationships are routinely identified.  (LS1-1, 2) A system can be described in terms of its components and their interactions.  

Disciplinary Core Ideas: (PS4-2) An object can be seen when light reflected from its surface enters the eyes. (LS1-1) Plants and animals have both internal and external structures that serve various functions in growth, survival, behavior, and reproduction.  (LS1-2) Different sense receptors are specialized for particular kinds of information, which may be then processed by the animal’s brain.
